D. 202 welcomes five elementary, middle school assistant principals

The District 202 Board of Education welcomed five new elementary and middle school assistant principals at its July 22, 2019 regular meeting.

The Board approved the new administrators over the summer. Three of the five are current assistant principals who will serve in the same role at different schools this year.

  • Bridget Adkins, who was assistant principal at Creekside Elementary School will serve in that role at River View Elementary School in 2019-20.

Adkins started her education career teaching seventh and eighth grade math and science from 2004-2007 at Heritage Middle School in South Berwyn School District #100.

She came to District 202 in 2013 as assistant principal at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.

  • Former River View Elementary School Assistant Principal Kyle Harej will move to Creekside Elementary this school year.

Harej started his education career in 2008 as a 4th and 5th grade special education teacher at Meadow View Elementary in District 202.

Harej moved to Eichelberger Elementary School as a special education teacher in 2010 and became River View’s assistant principal in 2014.

  • Former Wesmere Elementary School Assistant Principal Lisa Lipinski will move to Aux Sable Middle School in that same role this year. She will replace Cortnye Russell who accepted a position in another district. She started at Wesmere in 2017.

Lipinski started her education career in 1993 as a business education teacher in Pontiac Township. She came to District 202 in 2006 as a Career and Technical Education tutor at Plainfield North High School.

She moved to John F. Kennedy Middle School in 2007 as a sixth-grade social studies, math and language arts teacher. She also served as a site supervisor and acting Dean of Students.

  • Eagle Pointe Elementary School second grade teacher Kristen Trenhaile will replace Lipinski at Wesmere Elementary School.

Trenhaile started her education career in 2012 as a third-grade teacher at Lakewood Falls Elementary School in District 202.

She taught fifth grade at Lakewood Falls from 2013-16, then first grade from 2016-18. Trenhaile then served in her current role at Eagle Pointe last school year.

  • Freedom Elementary School second grade teacher Kristina Hillmer will serve as Freedom’s new assistant principal this year. She replaces Bill Stockey, who was named the principal at Eagle Pointe Elementary School earlier this spring.

Hillmer started her education career in 2007 in her current role with District 202. She has also been very active with building leadership activities and with the Association of Plainfield Teachers (APT.)
