Arrival and Dismissal

Car Rider/Bus Rider Procedures

The car rider drop off for students occurs in front of the school. Please DO NOT drop off students anywhere other than the front of River View School, which is the designated zone.  Please DO NOT walk through the private property on the south end of the school.  In years past, students walked on the path on the south end of the building to and from Northmont Drive.  This path was removed by the new property owner.  Drop offs in the side lot of school, as well as on Bronk Road and Northmont Drive  are strongly discouraged.

Once arrival/dismissal begins, cars will not be allowed to enter/exit from the parking spaces in the front.  Traffic will not be released from the side parking lot until arrival/dismissal is complete.  Students may exit cars and begin entering the building at 8:45 AM when supervisors are in place.

Walkers approaching from the front of the school, along with all bike riders should gather at the main entrance and enter at 8:45 AM.  Walkers approaching from behind the school should enter with car riders also at 8:45 AM.

Appropriate sidewalks and safe crossing areas should be used at all times.  Thank you for helping us keep your children and our staff safe at school!!

Bike Riders

Walk your bike while you are on school property (until you get to the path or away from the school driveway). Be sure that anyone that meets you knows this rule.

Be sure to lock your bike to the bike rack and keep the key safe while you are at school.

Ride only on the sidewalks and paths. Watch for people who are walking and give them the right-of-way.

Wait for brothers, sisters, or friends on the path or sidewalk away from the bike racks.

Go straight home. Do not stop to play on the playground.

If you usually ride the bus or are a car rider, you will need a note on days that you walk or ride your bike.

Always ask an adult on duty if you need help or have a question.

Car Riders

When you arrive in the morning, get out of the car on the side by the curb. Go to the nearest door to come in to school.

Parents should stay in the car and pull as far forward as possible during arrival and dismissal.

At dismissal, cars should shut off their engines when students are present.

If you usually ride the bus or are a walker, you will need a note on days that you are a car rider. Parents can always call the school and leave a message during the day. Children will be notified and reminded of the change before dismissal.

Always ask an adult on duty if you need help or have a question.

Walkers

Walk on sidewalks and paths.

No skateboards or roller blades used on school property.

Wait for brothers, sisters, or friends on the path or sidewalk.

If mom or dad or another adult is meeting you, please ask them to leave pets at home. No pets are allowed during arrival or dismissal.

Go straight home. Do not stop to play on the playground.
