What is the PTO and who can be a Member?

What is the River View PTO you ask?  PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization which consists of River View parents, volunteers, teachers, and staff working together to support and enrich all students.  We support school staff, help promote student self-esteem, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.  All members will have voting rights and can be a future board member.

If you are a father, mother, protector, guardian, and/or a person who works at River View, you can become a member - just fill out the membership form and pay the dues.

What does the PTO do?

The PTO's primary objective is to provide River View with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we host fundraising activities and evnets throughout the year.  Becoming a member helps support our objective with 100% of your membership dues going right back to the children and the school.

Why YOU should get involved!

The school and the students receive greater benefit when everyone is involved.  At River View, we strive for excellence.  What better way to show support, than to become involved today?  The PTO is a team effort, and we are always looking for new team members to help us succeed in our efforts.

Do I have time to be involved?

Absolutely!  There is no minimum amount of time needed to participate in the PTO! You can be involved as little or as much as you like!  If you have a special talent or skill, like photography, let us know and we can help match you to tasks that fit your skills, interests, and available time!

Current By Laws - amended June 2019

The River View PTO Board would like to submit to you a copy of the proposed Amended and Restated Bylaws of the River View PTO.  This document attachment is for your review. 

All members of the PTO may place one vote in favor or against the Amended and Restated Bylaws of the River View PTO in its entirety, as attached on December 11, 2021 at 6:00pm the December River View Elementary School PTO meeting, which will be held both in-person and via zoom (Meeting ID: 403 417 7058).

To pass there must be at least 2/3rds of the attendees vote in favor of the amended and restated bylaws.  If approved, the current Bylaws of the River View PTO will be immediately replaced with the attached.
